rLg Communications comes to the Aid of the Ghana Chess Association

rLg Communications, the first Ghanaian company to assemble computers and mobile phones in the country, has donated some phones, laptop computers and company giveaways to the Ghana Chess Association to be presented as prizes to the top performing players in the upcoming national championships scheduled for the 6th to 13th January 2012.

The national championships assembles the top eleven players from among the Ghanaian chess playing body for the past year together with the defending champion to vie for the national title.

Chess, which is among the lesser-known sports, is also one of the least-sponsored sport in the country.  Several efforts put in by the Association to obtain sponsorship from various organisations and institutions have proved futile.

It was therefore very gratifying and heartwarming when rlg Communications answered positively to their request.  The President of the Ghana Chess Association, Wing Commander George Arko-Dadzie assured Mr. Clarence Amenyah, the Marketing Manager who donated the items on behalf of rlg Communications, that the donation will be put to its rightful use.

He further noted that the gesture will mark the beginning of a strategic partnership between the two entities that will see more tournaments being organised in the name of rlg Communications in the coming years.
